Everyone loves puppies, but if you dont have the time and energy to deal with boundless puppy energy, constant supervision, housetraining, and general puppy mischief, an older dog may be right for you. Many middle aged dogs still have several years left and make excellent companions. Best of all, they typically have lower energy levels than puppies, are house trained, crate trained, and dont require constant supervision. For example, Sheeba is a lovely 8 year old Siberian Husky. She is completely house trained and has never had a single accident in her foster home, even after she had major surgery to repair a problem in her sinuses. Sheeba has completely healed from her surgery and loves meeting all people. She is sociable and enjoys the company of other dogs, and likes her trips to the dog park. Sheeba is a mature lady with excellent manners. She doesnt chew things up, doesnt soil in the house, and is very quiet and demure. She enjoys quiet evenings at home as well as social outings, and her gentle nature even allowed her to make friends with a horse! She is good with kids and other dogs, but needs a home without cats.
