When I first arrived at my foster home I just had the typical nomenclature style ID. Just the next word on the list to keep me straight from all the other abandoned pets. My new foster Mom told me she had picked out a very special name for a special kitty. Its nice to not only have a pretty name but to hear someone calling you. I don't always answer, but it makes me feel like one of the family .
I was accepted into the fold at foster Moms house rather quickly (it helped that I color coordinate with the resident kitties). One day one of my roomies was bored with the murder mystery that was on and decided to channel surf. She stopped when she saw FOOD. Turns out it was a cooking show and low and behold there was my namesake -Cat Cora. A Cat named Cora. What is not to like, great name, cooks wonderful food a match made in heaven. I may even write my own cookbook.
If having a blossoming gourmet chef turned author in your household is not enough incentive to consider me as your new family member,I would add that I am very outgoing and I get along well with other cats. I have tuned out to be a great little traveler, I love toys, windows and following humans about - not to mention I make a great foot warmer I have excellent litter box habits and I use a corrugated scratching pad with a good deal of enthusiasm (and just a dash of cat nip for incentive).
Note: Cora was taken in by the MCSPCA in response toa special plea from the county shelter. When Cora arrived at the MCSPCA her vetting was completed and she was referred to a specialist for a more thorough examination and diagnosis of her cloudy eye. The ophthalmologist determined that the damage was most likely the result of an injury that was accompanied by an infection when she was a young kitten.
Coras condition is considered benign although she will continue to need eye drops to help keep her eye moist. Cora has vision in the eye and has no other problems.
To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an adoption event <http://www.mcspca.org/openhouse.asp> or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
